Creative Berlin
Berlin’s cultural landscape is many faceted, exciting and always on the move. Not only will you find a large variety of well known and established museums, galleries, theatres, concert halls, cinemas, festivals, publishers and many examples of modern architecture but also a very lively contemporary and often experimental music and art scene. Berlin has to deal with a lot of social and economical problems but has nevertheless always been a stimulating and liberating playground for the creative, the intellectual, the original and the stubborn. The competition is keen and for many artists and intellectuals survival itself has become a form of art. Originality is a must and this challenge is met by an ever increasing number of small fashion and designer labels, literary and art cafés, bands and studios, fringe theatres, unusual and experimental galleries and ateliers, and alternative educational institutions. Many exciting projects have been born in Berlin during the last decades. Not all are still existent but quite a few have prevailed and are still successful.
